Philippians 2:13 "it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose".
This verse means
that our God provides both the desire and the ability for us as believers to
live according to His will, as it is not a result of our own strength but of
His power at work within us.
1.Source
of power: The verse emphasizes that the capacity to want and to do what is right
comes from God, not from oneself.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;6
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
2. God's
purpose:
This work is for
His "good pleasure," meaning it aligns with and accomplishes His
divine purpose. Mainly, for us his children to grow stronger and prosper
spiritually and it includes blessing with protection and discipline as we obey
his instruction carefully. And surely this is where our hope and future holds through
our faith in Christ Jesus name.
Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
3. Desire
and ability:
God first create
the longing within us to do what is right and then provides the power and
ability to follow through with that desire. This is how important for us to first
accept Jesus Christ wholeheartedly as our Lord and saviour so that our old-self
which has its own worldly desire will be replaced with a new-self. Being
worldly is not pleasing to God and it is mentioned as the cause of a spiritual
death in the bible. But through our faith in his Son Jesus we now become alive spiritually;
holy, pleasing and acceptable before him and right there the new-self started growing
within us. Able to do the will of God and has the desire of seeking him more
and more.
Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old
has gone, the new is here! Please read 2 Corinthians 5….
4. Connection
to salvation: This active work of God within believers is connected to the command
in the preceding verse (Philippians 2:12) to "work out your salvation with
fear and trembling". Working out salvation is not about earning it, but
about living in response to God's work in you through faith and obedience.
Without these two major components of our spiritual walk, we will remain
spiritually dead forever (James 2:26).
For what will be the power of our works before God without our faith in his Son
Jesus Christ?
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did
not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world
through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not
believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of
God’s one and only Son.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can
boast.
We all know that our God is always working all things together for our good. But it doesn’t mean that we should be spoiled and keep abusing
his goodness and faithfulness.
We need to do
our part as our cooperation with our Loving Father in heaven for the fulfilments of his good and perfect plan for us, we need to obey
his commands with faith.
Let God's power work within you, within your family, within your job, within your trials and problems.
Be grateful to God for even there are times and situations
in life that are getting tough but He already provided a way for us to overcome
it all by the power of our faith in Christ.
Keep up the faith on fire, desire to obey follow
Jesus Christ rather than following the world full of darkness. In him there is
a complete joy, salvation and eternal life.
Let’s pray for the salvation of our family, salvation
of our country and salvation of the world. Everyone need salvation in Jesus
Name, AMEN!
