DEVOTIONAL: SALVATION MEANING AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Salvation (also called deliverance or redemption) is the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences—which include death and separation from God—by Christ's death and resurrection, and everyone who accept this truth will be restored through faith and have eternal life.

Note, that the word death here is not about a physical death but a spiritual death. So, this spiritual death and separation from God start from the time when humans disobeyed God which is written in the book of Genesis 3 (please read the full chapter).

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God;

your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

And because God so love the world He made a way in which He sent his one and only son Jesus Christ to deliver and redeem us from being perished because of our transgressions and sin.

John 3:16, which says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". Other important verses include Ephesians 2:8-9, which states that salvation is a gift of God through faith, not by our works, and Acts 4:12, which asserts that salvation is found only through Jesus.

Now that we knew that salvation is a gift we received from God, what shall we do for it? Shall we keep it and hide?

Would you be so proud of what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for you? And if you are so proud of it, could you hide it and not spread it instead? This is the truth, many of us are called by names us Christians in general, but sad reality do not understand how important is the word SALVATION personally. And if we do not pursue the understanding of knowing this truth, we are just like living daily and wasting the most important treasures in our lives. The chance of being fully reconciled to God through his word with the act of repentance.

Our Loving God already made a way and give us the chance now to live as pleasing and acceptable to him in the name of his son Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ sacrificed himself till death at the cross just to save us and the world against the consequences of our wickedness. And this is our role as being saved. We have to do our part as the victims of sin and now completely set free by the grace of God. Our chance is not just for us to enjoy whatever the world has offering to us but to turn away from it and fix our eyes to Christ Jesus. We need to maintain the cleanliness brought to us by Jesus Christ.  As what Apostle Paul said in…

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

And this is what true repentance in the name of Christ Jesus is, to turn away ourselves from being worldly, for the world is full of sin. And if only we will listen and have a humble heart to obey God’s commands, there will be a progressive transformation of our heart and have a renewed mind. Truly repentance is the only act of a certain person whose mind has really understood and whose heart has really enlightened on how worst it could be our lives without Jesus. Because of what he has done at the cross we are now justified and cleansed by his blood and restored. We are no longer called as slaves of sin, but have completely have freedom and no longer called as gentiles but now we are called children of God. Thanks be to Jesus Christ for he has done for us. May we walk in the way which he has shown to us for the glory of our Loving Father in heaven.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

DEVOTIONAL: IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is important because it allows for forgiveness, spiritual growth, and a renewed relationship with our Heavenly Father. It is an act of turning away from sin and walk toward a path of a healthy spiritual life  which leads to freedom from guilt, healing, and a fresh start. It is often seen as a prerequisite for spiritual progress and salvation. It is also an  act of feeling remorse for all the past wrongdoing. Knowing also that in every mistake that we are going to commit in this present and in the future has a consequences(including the past). So it is called to repent and not to repeat. We have to choose wisely our path by changing our mindsets and behaviour by walking towards a better way of living   fixing our eyes to Jesus.   This involves acknowledging one's actions base not by human judgement but by what Christ Jesus teaching, and committing to a change in attitude and actions in the name of Christ Jesus.
