DEVOTIONAL: BLESSING COMES AFTER OBEDIENCE

In Luke 11:27-28, a woman in the crowd blesses Jesus's mother for giving birth to him, but Jesus redirects this praise, stating, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it".

This verse emphasizes that true blessing comes not just from hearing God's word, but from putting it into practice. Hearing without action is incomplete; it is obedience that leads to a life of purpose, peace, and lasting joy.

Like Mary, the mother of Christ Jesus because God knew her heart as an obedient servant, she was blessed by being chosen as an instrument in fulfilling God’s plan for us and to the world. And now, the blessing of God through Christ is being set for everyone. And we can only know and see it by listening to his word together with our faith and action.

We are all called and chosen to follow Jesus Christ by the grace of God and this is one of the great blessing we have at hand with a promise. But sad to see that not everyone have heard the word has also the willingness to accept it and they just keep ignoring it. Because the kind of blessing we always seeking for is material blessing, the temporary. God want to bless us with his eternal blessings.

And today, God is speaking to us and encouraging us to let all his words that we have heard to be put into practice for us to received his blessings.

·         Hearing is the first step: It is important to hear what God's word says.

Romans 10:17 New International Version

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Obedience is the second: True blessing is found in applying that word to your life through your actions and choices.

James 2:17 New International Version

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Obedience brings blessings: This obedience leads to a life with more peace, purpose, and joy because no matter what will happen in this world we are already secured, for we live with it together with our faith in Christ Jesus.

John 8:12 New International Version

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Obedience is a solid foundation for faith: Matthew 7:24-27New International Version

The Wise and Foolish Builders

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Warning: 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Be reminded about our expectations towards blessing:

B-lessing is not all about temporary/material things but it is all about a spiritual growth and understanding about God’s plan and purposes for his children. It includes the fulfillment of his promises through JESUS CHRIST.

Memory Verse: Luke 11:28, where Jesus says,

"Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

DEVOTIONAL: SALVATION MEANING AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Salvation (also called deliverance or redemption) is the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences—which include death and separation from God—by Christ's death and resurrection, and everyone who accept this truth will be restored through faith and have eternal life. Note, that the word death here is not about a physical death but a spiritual death. So, this spiritual death and separation from God start from the time when humans disobeyed God which is written in the book of Genesis 3 ( please read the full chapter ) . Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. And because God so love the world He made a way in which He sent his one and only son Jesus Christ to deliver and redeem us from being perished because of our transgressions and sin. John 3:16 , which says, "For God so loved the world that he g...

EVIDENCE OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN FAMILY JOHN:13:1-17 ANCHOR VERSE John 13:12-14 12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  TO WASH ONE ANOTHER’S FEET AS JESUS CHRIST COMMANDED TO HIS DISCPLES IS NOT WHAT WE   LITERALLY  THINK  BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT A SPIRITUAL CLEANSING . DEVOTIONAL: IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is important because it allows for forgiveness, spiritual growth, and a renewed relationship with our Heavenly Father. It is an act of turning away from sin and walk toward a path of a healthy spiritual life  which leads to freedom from guilt, healing, and a fresh start. It is often seen as a prerequisite for spiritual progress and salvation. It is also an  act of feeling remorse for all the past wrongdoing. Knowing also that in every mistake that we are going to commit in this present and in the future has a consequences(including the past). So it is called to repent and not to repeat. We have to choose wisely our path by changing our mindsets and behaviour by walking towards a better way of living   fixing our eyes to Jesus.   This involves acknowledging one's actions base not by human judgement but by what Christ Jesus teaching, and committing to a change in attitude and actions in the name of Christ Jesus.
