DEVOTIONAL: LIVE BY THE SPIRIT AND NOT BY THE FLESH

CHRIST SET US FREE AGAINST THE SLAVERY OF THE FLESH (Galatians 5:1.26 )

As Apostle Paul a servant of God warns the Galatians, for he himself was living according to the desire of the flesh before, but by God’s grace he was set free through his obedience to God’s instructions. As he mentioned his old self in(V19-21sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;  idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like),that who do the same will not inherit the kingdom of God. The word of God, his warnings, instructions and promises will never be changed.

The same message to all of us, as we read this passage today. Let's know on how to live by the Spirit. For our God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24.

TO LIVE BY THE SPIRIT IS TO....

S- SURENDER YOUR LIFE TO GOD FULLY

-v5 Allow God to led you by the Spirit.

P-PURE HEART

-v16 not gratifying the desires of the flesh

I-INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP TO GOD

- v25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

R- REFRAIN/STOP FROM THE DESIRE OF THE FLESH

- v7 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

I-INTRODUCE THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST TO OTHERS

- v13-14 rather, serve one another humbly in love. Love your neighbor as yourself.

T-TRUST EVERYTHING TO GOD

-v5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

*Live by the Spirit to be set free from slavery of the flesh(sin). Have the grace of God and be saved through Christ Jesus.

*The one who live by the Spirit will bear much fruit.(love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control)

*Being a Christian let’s always check our heart and mind, where does my all desires focusing at this very moment?


MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

DEVOTIONAL: IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is important because it allows for forgiveness, spiritual growth, and a renewed relationship with our Heavenly Father. It is an act of turning away from sin and walk toward a path of a healthy spiritual life  which leads to freedom from guilt, healing, and a fresh start. It is often seen as a prerequisite for spiritual progress and salvation. It is also an  act of feeling remorse for all the past wrongdoing. Knowing also that in every mistake that we are going to commit in this present and in the future has a consequences(including the past). So it is called to repent and not to repeat.
