DEVOTIONAL: DO NOT RESIST DISCIPLINE BUT LISTEN

"The Lord disciplines those he loves"

Please read Proverbs 3:1-12

On my childhood days, I always got an advice and so many kinds of discipline from my parents that sometimes it hurts me physically and emotionally due to  lack of knowledge and understanding in anything. As I grew up I learned and knew all those things which is right and wrong because of their guidance. And I believed your parents do the same as my parents did. The question is why does parents doing it? Is it for their own benefits? Or it is because of their love for us? As I  am a parent now, the only thing I ask and pray to God  for my children is a guidance to lead them not to grow in wrong way and may they know  that Jesus is the Lord. For I am sure and believed that they will have a better future when the know him. One thing to remember when I was studying, if I got an award in school they will really buy a set of new clothes for me, preparing something special and celebrate. That’s what my parent’s simple happiness for me having a simple achievement in life.

How much more do we get discipline from our Heavenly Father whose love is fathomless. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful (Hebrew 12:11).God will really discipline us, as we are his children. He died for us to be saved. And he has a greater plan in advanced for us to do, not to harm us but to give us hope and a future! What then shall we return to his goodness and unconditional love?

In any circumstances and disciplines do we have right now, if relationship, family issues, job and any personal problems, ask God for wisdom so you may understand and hear his calling and plans for you, Lord have your way in me. Do not lean on your own understanding.  Trust and submit to him no matter what is it, for he is the only way that gives us hope and assurance. Have an intimate relationship to the Heavenly Father so you may able to trust his fathomless power and love. Know Jesus Christ, our Loving Father in heaven by reading the bible, listen and obey his word and remember all his promises and commands for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. And you will be blessed when you listen and obey (Luke 11:28). And do not forget to acknowledge each disciplines and blessings by giving glory to his name Jesus Christ. Amen!

Reading…Proverbs 3:1-12 Wisdom Bestows Well-Being

My son, do not forget my teaching,
    but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
    and bring you peace and prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them around your neck,
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
    in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
    and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
    as a father the son he delights in.

DEVOTIONAL: SALVATION MEANING AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Salvation (also called deliverance or redemption) is the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences—which include death and separation from God—by Christ's death and resurrection, and everyone who accept this truth will be restored through faith and have eternal life. Note, that the word death here is not about a physical death but a spiritual death. So, this spiritual death and separation from God start from the time when humans disobeyed God which is written in the book of Genesis 3 ( please read the full chapter ) . Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. And because God so love the world He made a way in which He sent his one and only son Jesus Christ to deliver and redeem us from being perished because of our transgressions and sin. John 3:16 , which says, "For God so loved the world that he g...

DEVOTIONAL: IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is important because it allows for forgiveness, spiritual growth, and a renewed relationship with our Heavenly Father. It is an act of turning away from sin and walk toward a path of a healthy spiritual life  which leads to freedom from guilt, healing, and a fresh start. It is often seen as a prerequisite for spiritual progress and salvation. It is also an  act of feeling remorse for all the past wrongdoing. Knowing also that in every mistake that we are going to commit in this present and in the future has a consequences(including the past). So it is called to repent and not to repeat. We have to choose wisely our path by changing our mindsets and behaviour by walking towards a better way of living   fixing our eyes to Jesus.   This involves acknowledging one's actions base not by human judgement but by what Christ Jesus teaching, and committing to a change in attitude and actions in the name of Christ Jesus.
