DEVOTIONAL : ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AND RECIEVE THE GIFT OF WISDOM FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT

''Being saved is not safe and seated, but by sharing the gift of salvation that you have to others.''

Please read Acts 2:22-42
As Peter and his fellow disciples gathered together in one place on the day of Pentecost, they received the promise of Jesus Christ to have the Holy Spirit as their helper on their  next journey, as he will rise up again to the father. (Acts 2-23) All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them, so all people who were there was amazed of what they heard and witness, and some said they were drunk. But Peter stood up and his fellow disciples urged their fellow men Israelites to listen to them and believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah whom they crucified and died on the cross. Who did so many miracles that they even witness on their own eyes in their own land Israel. And telling them that God  raised Jesus Christ again to heaven and alive as they saw it personally. Using the prophesy of David (Acts V25-28 ,35) to prove Jesus is alive exalted to the right hand of God for it is impossible for death to hold unto Jesus because he is both the Lord and Messiah. Peter added that what they saw and witnessed was the power of the Holy Spirit.
After those people heard what was Peter told them they were cut to the heart and ask to the apostles, Brothers, what shall we do?

As a follower of Christ its not just enough that we know that Jesus Christ is alive, he rose up again and he is with the Father. But we need to know and admit that we are a sinner and we need a savior. Believing in our heart that he is our Lord and the Messiah who sacrificed his life for us to have hope and give a chance for us to live by the help of the Holy Spirit. Our God the three in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
See what happened as those people listened to Peter they were convicted and felt guilty of what they have done and they were touched by the word of God. If we are willing to listen and hear the voice of God allowing to enter and dwell in our heart with humility you will feel the love of God and  understand the truth and the Spirit of truth will set you free. And as what happened that time they started to ask the disciples, Brothers, what shall we do? Because they did not believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah and they felt guilty of what they have done to Jesus. They were full of pride that what they want is the king who is from the royal family like David but Christ is the one that was born on a manger, a fisherman. And Peter said  this command, repent  and be baptized in the name Jesus Christ by devoting yourselves to his word and to one another. Remember this, save yourselves on this wicked generation as Peter said.

We are the one who is responsible for our salvation. We must confess in our mouth and believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Messiah with obedience by repentance and live a Christ-centered life.

If you are convicted, touched and rebuked by the word today is the question WHAT SHALL WE DO applicable to you?

ANSWER HAS COMMAND AND PROMISE!
 38“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”

Acts 2:22-42
English Standard Version
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23 this Jesus,[a] delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24 God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25 For David says concerning him,

“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
    for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
    my flesh also will dwell in hope.
27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
    or let your Holy One see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
    you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

29 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31 he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
35     until I make your enemies your footstool.”’

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

DEVOTIONAL: SALVATION MEANING AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Salvation (also called deliverance or redemption) is the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences—which include death and separation from God—by Christ's death and resurrection, and everyone who accept this truth will be restored through faith and have eternal life. Note, that the word death here is not about a physical death but a spiritual death. So, this spiritual death and separation from God start from the time when humans disobeyed God which is written in the book of Genesis 3 ( please read the full chapter ) . Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. And because God so love the world He made a way in which He sent his one and only son Jesus Christ to deliver and redeem us from being perished because of our transgressions and sin. John 3:16 , which says, "For God so loved the world that he g...

EVIDENCE OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN FAMILY JOHN:13:1-17 ANCHOR VERSE John 13:12-14 12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  TO WASH ONE ANOTHER’S FEET AS JESUS CHRIST COMMANDED TO HIS DISCPLES IS NOT WHAT WE   LITERALLY  THINK  BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT A SPIRITUAL CLEANSING . DEVOTIONAL: IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is important because it allows for forgiveness, spiritual growth, and a renewed relationship with our Heavenly Father. It is an act of turning away from sin and walk toward a path of a healthy spiritual life  which leads to freedom from guilt, healing, and a fresh start. It is often seen as a prerequisite for spiritual progress and salvation. It is also an  act of feeling remorse for all the past wrongdoing. Knowing also that in every mistake that we are going to commit in this present and in the future has a consequences(including the past). So it is called to repent and not to repeat. We have to choose wisely our path by changing our mindsets and behaviour by walking towards a better way of living   fixing our eyes to Jesus.   This involves acknowledging one's actions base not by human judgement but by what Christ Jesus teaching, and committing to a change in attitude and actions in the name of Christ Jesus. A key verse on repentance is 1 John 1...
